Some Technical Facts about the tools we utilize in dispatch

Radio Information

The dispatch consoles we use are Motorola Centracom Gold Elite, they are tied into the King County Regional Radio System.  They access both trunking and conventional channels.  For the Police side of dispatch all transmissions go out over the 800 MHz SmartZone trunking system. For Fire dispatch the initial fire paging and shorts go out over conventional channels in the VHF and UHF bands via Motorola MSR2000 base stations, they are located on various mountain and hill tops to provide the needed coverage.  Each dispatch position also has a XTL2500 radio for use as backup should a system failure occur.

CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) Information

We utilize TriTech integrated software called VisiCAD Command™ for both our Police and Fire Dispatching duties.
